We are accepting applications from MDs and PhDs for the "Image Guidance, Precision Diagnosis and Therapy” (IGPDT) training program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital – Harvard Medical School (BWH/HMS), effective immediately.
This training program is designed for trainees who are seeking opportunities in any of the following 6 image guided therapy (IGT) thematic areas: 1) Multiomics-based quantitative biomarkers for IGT- focusing on computational analysis of quantitative image features from the multiparametric imaging phenotype; 2) Navigation, Robotics and Visualization technologies for IGT- develop and validate novel robotics systems such as computer visions, manipulators and visualization and navigation methods in IGT; 3) Magnetic Resonance guided Focused Ultrasound Surgery (MRgFUS)- investigating the fundamental methods and clinical applications of this technique; 4) Advanced MR Imaging Techniques and Computational Image Analysis- this area spans multiple fields, from MR physics to computational algorithm and open-source software development; 5) Machine Learning technology for IGT- develop machine learning based algorithms that leverage large repositories of annotated data at BWH; 6) Mass Spectrometry based Biomarkers- development of mass spectrometry platforms to provide real or near real-time characterization of surgical tissue at the molecular level to support surgical decision-making.
Eligible candidates: Per NIH guidelines, this is restricted to US citizens or legal aliens. Postdoctoral PhD fellows or MD physician-scientists who have completed residency (in specialties such as diagnostic/interventional radiology, surgery, radiation oncology, pathology) are eligible to apply for research/clinical training in IGPDT. Appointments will be for one to two years. Salary is commensurate with NIH guidelines, qualifications and years of training.
Criteria for selection: Previous outstanding clinical and academic performance, prior research experience and publications, commitment to an academic career in precision diagnosis and therapy, personal references and an interview. Women, persons with disabilities and of diverse backgrounds/members of underrepresented minority groups are particularly encouraged to apply.
