The Department of Radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas offers an Advanced Neuroradiology fellowship for candidates who desire additional training beyond the standard 1 year neuroradiology fellowship training.. The Neuroradiology division currently includes 19 faculty with a combination of distinguished senior and enthusiastic junior faculty providing great opportunities for mentorship. Our faculty include past presidents of national societies like the ASFNR, ASSR and many senior members of ASNR. There is a free standing children's hospital with distinguished dedicated pediatric neuroradiology faculty. High-quality 360 degree neuroradiology training covers all facets of neuroimaging. Excellent exposure to advanced neuroimaging techniques is provided by our internationally recognized faculty with expertise in functional MRI, perfusion imaging including arterial spin label MRI, diffusion tensor imaging, and complex spine and neuro-interventional procedures. UTSW neuroradiology is one of the few centers in the country with a MEG facility and active research programs in deep learning. The program provides autonomy with numerous multi-disciplinary meetings and teaching conferences run by the fellows. Our program strongly supports work-life balance among the trainees. We also provide three weeks of vacation plus an additional 10 days of paid time off to use for sick leave and/or special circumstances including attendance at professional meetings and seminars, board and licensure exams, interview days, etc.. Dedicated academic time is provided per week along with CME time. Fellows are strongly encouraged to participate in national society meetings including ASNR, ASHNR, ASFNR and RSNA.
