Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington is recruiting a full time Radiologist with fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine to join our care team of 28 radiologists. This position offers multidisciplinary collaboration with a collegial team of dedicated and talented providers, residents, and staff. Team Approach to Patient Care - The radiology team enjoys face-to-face and collaborative relationships with experienced, sub-specialized medicine and surgical colleagues, oncologists and pathologists. All members of the team work for Virginia Mason and have the same team-based approach to care: the patient comes first. Diagnostic Radiology at Virginia Mason - The Department of Radiology provides imaging services for inpatients and outpatients at our main campus in downtown Seattle and outpatient imaging at 6 regional medical centers located across the larger metropolitan area of Seattle and the Puget Sound. 250,000 diagnostic exams are performed annually including advanced CT, MR, and Nuclear Medicine imaging as well as image-guided interventional and neurointerventional procedures. Commitment to Teaching - Virginia Mason supports residency programs in radiology, anesthesiology, surgery, urology, and internal medicine. The radiology residency program at Virginia Mason is one of the oldest in the Pacific Northwest and the education and training of residents is a core mission of the Department of Radiology. Innovation in Healthcare - Innovation is encouraged at all levels at Virginia Mason and faculty have the opportunity to learn and apply the principles of the Virginia Mason Production System (VMPS). Through application of Lean principles to healthcare, VMPS has been the engine to create a culture of continuous improvement, high reliability and safety, and patient-centric care. Research Opportunities - Research is not required but encouraged and supported. The member of the Department of Radiology are engaged in a number of clinical trials and collaborative research relationships with other clinical departments at Virginia Mason and the Benaroya Research Institute. A research specialist is available within the department to support and assist in research projects and the organization provides pilot grants to support research time. The Virginia Mason Center for Health Care Improvement fosters research and publication of innovations in health care delivery.
