The Radiology Service operates on a 24-hour, 7 day a week schedule. Inpatient and outpatient imaging examinations are performed on the St. Albans, Brooklyn and New York Campuses. Imaging examinations are performed in the following modalities: General Radiology, Fluoroscopy, Sonography (US), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography and Interventional Radiology. Due to the expansion of the Brooklyn Breast Imaging Section of the Radiology Service and the anticipated opening of the Manhattan Breast Imaging Section, the VA NY Harbor Healthcare System (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx) is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologist to meet the rapidly expanding needs of a well-established, sub-specialty Radiology practice. The incumbent will: Function predominantly as a Women's Imager (mammography, MRI, US) with ancillary responsibilities in general radiology and Body Imaging. Interpret screening and diagnostic mammograms using 2D and 3D technology, breast tomosynthesis, breast sonograms and breast MRI scans. Perform image guided procedures such as breast biopsies, hysterosalpingograms and breast needle localizations. Prepare for and be present during all ACR/MQSA/FDA inspections at VANYHHCS managed Breast Imaging Centers. Participate in a collaborative effort with the National Teleradiology Project for screening mammography. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Service Work Schedule: M-F 8:00am-4:30pm/variable schedule may apply to include Nights, Weekends and Holidays Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus (up to an additional 7.5% of their salary (not to exceed $15k), regular salary increases Paid Time Off: Annual leave at the rate of eight (8) hours per biweekly pay period; Sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per biweekly pay period; 10 paid Federal holidays per year. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years' vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided. Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting. If selected for this position you must meet specific individual eligibility requirement and submit your application within four months of appointment. The final award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office.
