The incumbent performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) of the head, neck, spine, chest, body and vessels in accordance with hospital policies. Performs CT exams, general radiology examinations, and clerical duties as secondary tasks on other tours of duty to provide coverage of irregular tours and to cover during periods of absence or vacancy of a position and will be rotated as equitable as possible. Duties performed include, but are not limited to the following: Prioritizes scheduling of patients as well as the ability to identify and accommodate the extreme emergent patient who may need immediate emergency surgery, etc.; Performs a wide variety of MRI/MRA exams to include complex visualization of vessels and organs by utilizing 3D technology; Confers with radiologists to determine requirements of non-standard exams; determines technical factors, positioning, number and thickness of scans, etc., to produce and satisfy requirements of MRI scanning; Works with the radiologist as a member of the radiographic team; Assists and anticipates the needs of the radiologists and the performance of the exam; Prepare contrast materials that are used in MRI and MRA exams; Practices MR safety in order to eliminate non-MR compatible patients, staff and visitors from entering the MRI suite; Maintains records and files of exams performed on patients; Properly identifies patients through the RIS interface identifier and left/right markers; Assures that MRI patients are screened in advance for any contraindicating conditions per Imaging Service policy; Responsible for cleanliness, stocking and inventory of all MRI imaging supplies and related material; reports equipment malfunctions in a timely manner to supervisors; Continually reviews new developments in MRI/MRA. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00a.m. - 3:30p.m., 7:30a.m. - 4:00p.m., 8:00a.m. - 4:30p.m. (with rotating "on call" duty after hours, weekends and holidays) Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
