Job Summary The University of Colorado Department of Radiology is seeking a fellowship-trained, CAQ eligible, Interventional Radiologist to join the Interventional Division at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Professor. Currently, the Division includes eight Interventionalists and five physician assistants who together perform nearly 31,000 procedures annually. There is a hospital PICC service. The case load is very broad, with an emphasis on vascular and oncologic interventions. The department is scheduled to open an outpatient Interventional Center in 2022 which will expand our Interventional Radiology practice into the outpatient-based lab environment. In addition, IR provides part-time coverage at our affiliate hospital, Children’s Hospital of Colorado.
This physician will perform diagnostic and therapeutic Interventional procedures on a daily basis. Call responsibilities are 2-3 weekdays/month & 1 weekend every 2 months. Fellow, resident, and medical student education in both an outpatient and inpatient setting are critical components of the position. An opportunity to build practice in an outpatient-based environment will be available but the position is an academic faculty position so blending practice building with education & clinical outcomes reporting will be an important aspect of this position.
Minimum Qualifications (applies to all ranks):
Medical Degree or equivalent, Colorado Medical License at time of hire, ABR Certification or eligible by time of hire, Interventional Radiology Fellowship Training, CAQ eligible by time of hire
Competency is required in the performance of diagnostic arteriography, vascular intervention, oncologic intervention including intra-arterial and percutaneous therapies, biliary, genitourinary, and GI intervention
Preferred Qualifications (applies to all ranks):
The individual would have a proven interest in clinical research, education & academic productivity is preferred. Salary & Appointment are commensurate with experience. As we will be building a practice in an outpatient-based lab environment, experience in an outpatient-based practice & specifically a desire to be active in the care of end-stage renal disease patients will be valuable.
