THE OPPORTUNITY The Administrative Director will be responsible for leading a multi-site radiation oncology program that includes a state-of-the-art proton therapy center. SCCA is a leading NCI designated comprehensive cancer care center with a unique and beneficial governance model, a strong history of financial performance and patient outcomes, a solid balance sheet with low leverage, and growing volumes and demand with an increasing shift in cancer care to specialized centers.
POSITION SUMMARY The Administrative Director is responsible for the clinical and administrative operations of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) Radiation Oncology Program consisting of the SCCA Proton Center, the SCCA South Lake Union Radiation Oncology site, and two community sites, and for the growth of our Integrated Radiation Oncology Program. This position is responsible for working closely with the SVP of Operations and the Chair of the SCCA/UW Medicine Department of Radiation Oncology in the development and execution of strategic direction and growth, clinical service initiatives, financial performance, patient experience, provider and staff engagement, research and quality for the overall program. The SCCA/UW Medicine Radiation Oncology program treats over 2,800 patients annually from a multi-state region covering over 25% of the U.S. land mass. This program is the only one in North America with multiple forms of particle therapy (protons, neutrons) and all advanced forms of external beam radiation (SBRT, Image-Guided Adaptive Radiotherapy) as well as brachytherapy. The Radiation Oncology Program Administrative Director will lead and direct the Radiation Oncology management team in efforts to improve patient access to clinical care and research, processes, workflows, and clinical outcomes.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS • 3-5 years prior experience in Radiation Oncology Operations, proton therapy preferred • Advanced degree in business field (MBA, MMM, etc.) • Demonstrated project and budget management skills and leadership experience. • Ability to set overall strategy and drive process improvement. • Strong customer/patient orientation. • Must have strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve through data. • Demonstrated understanding of national and regional trends affecting radiation oncology and ability to adapt and respond to these market forces.
