Position Summary:The Ultrasonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position works under the direction of the radiologist with limited supervision, independently performing diagnostic ultrasound exams and therapeutic or interventional Ultrasound procedures. Job performance requires independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity. External contacts include patients, family members, and physicians. Internal contacts include nursing service staff and transport staff. Minimum Requirements:Previous experience as an Ultrasonographer preferredEducation/Licenses/Certifications:Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Cardiovascular Credentialing InternationalIf registry pending, must complete appropriate registration within 12 months from date of employment.
