Breast Imaging Radiologist (Open Rank)
Department of Radiology, University of Colorado Denver

Job Summary
The Department of Radiology has an opening for a full-time faculty member in the Breast Imaging Section. This is a terrific opportunity to join a highly progressive department and academic institution, on a continually expanding medical campus, in one of the best places to live in the United States.
This position would be best suited for a candidate who enjoys reading in an academic medical center environment and interacting with and instructing medical students, residents and fellows. This radiologist should also have a general interest in clinical research.
Additionally, this radiologist will join a section that is integrated in the multidisciplinary Diane O’Connor Thompson Breast Center, which is part of an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center. The Breast Center provides consultation services and specialized breast cancer care for a large portion of Colorado and the surrounding states, which means second-opinion breast imaging consultation is a significant portion of our practice. There are multiple weekly multidisciplinary breast cancer conferences for which support is provided by our service. Furthermore, consultations with breast center patient care providers commonly occur during the clinical work day.
All typical breast imaging equipment is available, including digital mammography with tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, and MRI. Typical interventional procedures are also performed using all breast imaging modalities.
Both the Breast Section and the Department of Radiology have been recognized as an ACR Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence. We are the only Radiology department in the state of Colorado to receive this prestigious honor.
Duties
Duties include interpreting screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast MRI examinations, performance and interpretation of breast sonograms, and performance of all breast imaging-guided breast procedures (mammographically, stereotactically, tomosynthesisultrasound- and MRI-guided needle biopsies; wire and Savi Scout localizations; drainages and drain placements; and ductography). Breast imaging fellow, diagnostic radiology resident, and medical student education are integral components of the position.
The clinical work of the Breast Imaging Section includes both community and University of Colorado sites of practice including University of Colorado Hospital, Lone Tree Medical Center, Cherry Creek Medical Center and Highlands Ranch Hospital. In joining the Breast Imaging Section, while members may have a primary site of practice, all members will be required to work at any of the sites based on the clinical coverage needs.
