We are looking for a Radiology Technologist to join our team at Saint Joseph Hospital.  As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for operating radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic x-ray films as prescribed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.

Your day.

As a Radiology Technologist you need to know how to:

• Produce x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist ensuring clear and undistorted films. Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures.


• Perform x-ray procedures using portable machine as requested by Emergency Department and nursing units.


• Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures.


• Communicate with patients, families, healthcare team members, and physicians both in-person and via telephone.


• Maintain X-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; ensure preventative maintenance is performed on a regularly scheduled basis; contact outside service for major malfunctions according to established guidelines.


• Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate that departmentâ™s/unitâ™s ability to meet its goals and objectives.

Your experience.

• High School diploma or equivalent, required


• Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and the ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required


• Current license/certification in the state of practice, required


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association, required


• At least one (1) year of diagnostic radiology experience, preferred
