The UPMC/University of Pittsburgh Department of Radiology, Division of Emergency Radiology & Teleradiology is seeking a Neuroradiologist.  The Division was founded in July 2008 with 6 radiologists (3 Body Radiologists and 3 Neuroradiologists).  Today, we have grown to a Division of 21 radiologists (9 Body Radiologists, 9 Neuroradiologists, and 3 General Emergency Radiologists) covering 16 hospitals, 4 of which are Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Centers, and 6 certified stroke centers.

The Division is presently seeking a motivated and qualified fellowship-trained Neuroradiologist with an MD degree, or equivalent.  Completion of an ACGME accredited diagnostic radiology residency is required.  Candidates must be board eligible or certified by the American Board of Radiology, eligible for an unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license, and willing to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA. Neuroradiologists should have successfully completed a neuroradiology fellowship.

As a member of our faculty, your practice would be almost exclusively within your specialty with nominal MSK.  Our Division provides an excellent blend of both academic and community style work.  Faculty will work with residents.  Publishing peer-reviewed manuscripts, performing research, and providing lectures are optional/not required although they are encouraged.  Scheduled work frequency is 1 week on and 2 weeks off, and the flexibility in scheduling is one of the strong points of this position.  We cover three shifts, which are 5 pm to 2 am, 7 pm to 4 am, and 10 pm to 7 am, and we rotate through each of those shifts equally.  The compensation package is exceptionally competitive with a very solid base salary, an incentive bonus structure, that can be further augmented by additional voluntary shifts, moonlighting opportunities, etc., should you so desire, and a strong benefit package.  It should also be noted that the members of this Division of Emergency Radiology and Teleradiology are literally among the most collegial, cohesive, and mutually supportive that you will find in any academic or private practice.  This itself serves as an unusually strong and almost unique benefit of this specific job opportunity.
