Position: Cardiothoracic Radiologist
The Department of Radiological Sciences, University of California Irvine, is currently seeking a qualified candidate as a Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series or Clinical (X) of Radiological Sciences Series, at the Assistant and Associate rank. Expertise in all aspects of thoracic and cardiovascular imaging is essential.
Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is essential criteria for appointment in this series.
Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service.
Requirements – The applicant must be fellowship trained in cardiothoracic imaging and with track record in teaching and research. Candidates must a MD or DO, be licensed or be eligible for full licensure in the State of California. Candidates must be board certified in diagnostic radiology. The candidate would be involved in interpreting CXR, cardiothoracic CT and MR and whole-body vascular CTA and MRA. He/she shall be expected to protocol and supervise cardiovascular cases as needed and also able to perform basic and advanced 3D post-processing in CT and MR for cardiovascular cases including TAVR. The candidate will be expected to conduct multidisciplinary meetings with cardio-pulmonary medicine, infectious disease, and vascular and cardiothoracic surgery and to take part in specialty weekend calls, focusing on cardiothoracic and vascular cases. The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Imaging (CVTI) section at UCI does not provide cross-sectional interventional service.
The department has state–of- the- art equipment including clinical 3T and 1.5T MRI scanners (including Siemens Vida, Lumina and Trio Tim 3T scanners) and 256- and dual-energy 128-slice CT scanners. Construction of an outpatient imaging center with state-of-the-art dual energy CT and MRI scanners has started. In addition, there are 320-slice CT, PET/CT, 3T MRI and 9.4T small animal MRI research scanners.
