Job Summary The responsibilities include clinical service and teaching. The selected candidate must have clinical expertise in all areas of abdominal imaging, including diagnostic CT, MRI, ultrasound, and occasional image-guided biopsies. The selected candidate is also expected to supervise trainees and to provide teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows.
Work hours vary between Monday-Friday, beginning at 8:00 am and typically extending to 5:00 pm; however, the day may be longer depending upon the caseload.
The position requires an MD degree (or equivalent), the ability to practice medicine in California, expertise in abdominal imaging and ultrasound, and board certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology. UCSF Health and ZSFG medical privileges and malpractice coverage will be provided for clinical work at ZSFG.
Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking a staff radiologist with expertise in Abdominal Imaging and Ultrasound to begin clinical coverage on a part-time basis at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and UCSF Health sites.
Required Qualifications
Valid CA Medical License
Board eligible in diagnostic radiology
Expertise in abdominal imaging and ultrasound clinical practice
Minimum 3 years of prior experience in diagnostic radiology
Demonstrated excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Board Certification in diagnostic radiology *required for Diplomate title
Completion of 1 year of abdominal imaging/ultrasound fellowship
Prior experience working at a trauma center
