The Edward B. Singleton Department of Radiology at Texas Children’s Hospital is inviting an ABR certified or ABR eligible energetic Pediatric Neuroradiologist to join the most dynamic and exciting pediatric radiology department in the nation. A team of ten talented, fully dedicated Pediatric Neuroradiologists comprise the Division of Neuroradiology primarily providing pediatric neuroradiology (CT, MRI and US) subspecialty services with additional secondary diagnostic services for adults in our women’s pavilion.
Texas Children’s Hospital, currently ranked No. 2 by the U.S. News & World Report survey, is the largest children’s hospital in the USA with 959 licensed beds. Between Houston, Austin, and College Station, we are providing care in more than 100 locations, including our Texas Medical Center campus and two community hospitals – Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus and Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands – as well as the Pavilion for Women, Texas Children’s Pediatrics, Urgent Care, Specialty Care, Texas Children’s Health Plan, and The Centers for Children and Women.
Approximately 300,000 imaging studies and procedures are performed at Texas Children’s fostering a dynamic and rapidly growing environment with high end technology. Texas Children’s Hospital and the Department of Radiology are committed to the classical tripartite mission of leading academic institutions. Clinical care, teaching and research are top priorities. The hospital leadership has an unwavering mission to offer the best of care to children and their families. Integrative, comprehensive and coordinated care is offered to create a healthier future for children and women.
The Neuroradiology Division serves three locations, the Texas Medical Center, West Campus, and The Woodlands with 14 total modern, top-end MRI units (7 1.5T and 7 3.0T) centrally interpreting from all locations within one reading room at the Texas Medical Center with additional support from at home workstations for certain shifts. There are five ACGME Pediatric Radiology fellowship slots as well as a Texas Medical Board approved Pediatric Neuroradiology fellowship program affiliated with our Division. We also have residents and Diagnostic Neuroradiology fellows rotating from both Baylor College of Medicine and University of Texas-Houston.
The Neuroradiology Division seeks an in-person applicant who has excellent clinical skills and a keen interest in the academic mission. Applicants will ideally have significant interest in and/or experience in clinical and translational research as well as advanced imaging techniques (DTI, fMRI, rsfMRI etc). This future colleague will enjoy productive collaboration with neuroradiology colleagues and with our outstanding clinical colleagues. The department directly employs an outstanding group of scientists in the Translational Imaging Group, two clinical MRI physicists as well as a modern clinical and neuroradiology post-processing lab. Personal and collegial academic growth as well service to the field of pediatric neuroradiology are important tenants of our culture.
The Division values a flexible schedule that the applicant finds conducive to rewarding success at work and at home. Weekly schedule template is thus negotiable.
Looking forward, we are excited to be opening our first, already under construction hospital in the rapidly growing technology hub of Austin, Texas in February 2024. Additionally, the Department has recently opened a state of art floor at the Medical Center location which includes multiple procedural rooms for Interventional Radiology and MRI with HIFU. An outpatient consult and direct referral service are well established.
