We are excited to announce an opening for the position of Associate Program Director for our ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology Residency program. The Associate Program Director will work alongside our Program Director, Vice Chair of Education, and administrative team, to oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of our prestigious residency program. The Associate Program Director will be responsible for resident recruitment, curriculum planning, resident mentoring, competency assessment, and promoting a culture of resident education and wellness. In addition, the Associate Program Director will have the unique opportunity to participate in strategic planning for the program, including program growth and development in educational activities.
Our diagnostic residency program has been accredited for over 50 years and has a proven track record of excellence in training radiologists. Over the past decade, our program has increased from 20 residents to 32 residents, and approximately one-third of our graduates have gone on to academic positions across the nation in the last 8 years. We take great pride in our program, which offers outstanding clinical training in a welcoming, inclusive environment while providing an active lifestyle for residents.
Facilities and Institution:
The Department provides clinical services at the University Hospital, Clinical Neuroscience Center, Huntsman Cancer Hospital, an NCI-designated premier cancer center, and multiple outpatient centers along the Wasatch Front. Our faculty and education team are internationally known for innovation in radiology education, such as StatDx, RadPrimer, and RadDiscord. Senior faculty members are renowned radiology educators.
Research opportunities also abound, with the resources described above, as well as the world-class unique support provided by the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research (UCAIR) in the Department. UCAIR offers international expertise in imaging sciences, including basic sciences, physics and engineering, MRI research, Focused Ultrasound, and CT and PET research. The University of Utah Health Sciences offers various leadership programs and training opportunities for faculty members.

The candidate should be board certified by the American Board of Radiology or by the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology, subspecialty fellowship trained, and have at least 3 years of subspecialized clinical experience in an academic institution. The candidate should have demonstrated prior engagement and efforts in radiology education and a passion for mentoring and developing the next generation of radiologists.
Outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite. The successful candidate will engage in the Associate Program Director role as well as in clinical services. The academic appointment will be at a rank commensurate with experience and training.
