The Department of Radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a full-time Radiologist in the Cardiothoracic Imaging Division, headed by Dr. Suhny Abbara. Candidate must have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree or foreign equivalent, have completed a minimum of 1 year of fellowship training, and be ABR Board certified/eligible. Eligibility for Texas medical licensure and its acquisition prior to the start of employment is required. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
Divisional duties include supervising and interpreting cardiac and thoracic imaging studies, providing consultation to referring physicians, and potentially performing various thoracic interventional procedures. Faculty members in the Cardiothoracic Imaging Division are responsible for clinical services at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Clements University Hospital, and affiliated outpatient clinics, which use state-of-the-art imaging equipment including the latest generations of MRI, CT and PET-CT scanners, as well as enterprise-wide EMR, PACS, 3D processing software, voice recognition dictation, and other electronic resources. Specific clinical and research interest can be in any area within the scope of cardiothoracic imaging, and faculty members have access to high-level mentorship in the pursuit of scholarly activities. Candidate will have the opportunity to work with residents, fellows, and medical students in one of the largest radiology training programs in the U.S.
Faculty members have dedicated academic time with many opportunities to develop research interests in collaboration with our strong basic science group, as well as other clinical and basic science departments throughout the campus.
