The VA is seeking a full-time General Diagnostic Radiologists to join our team at the Martinez VA clinic. Martinez has up-to-date Imaging Equipment in all modalities and is linked by a PACS to the main University affiliated VA Medical Center located in Sacramento.
Martinez is a small, cozy, historic town nestled between the Mount Diablo foothills and the Carquinez Straights in the East Bay of Northern California. This location has a lot to offer to those seeking good weather and an abundance of outdoor activities whether you prefer the beaches of San Francisco, or the mountains and snow of Lake Tahoe and it is a short distance from days trips in Napa wine country.
The General Radiologist reports to the Assistant Chief of the Imaging Service as the first line report who provides general supervision of clinical and administrative functions and completes annual appraisal. In the absence of an Assistant Chief of the Imaging Service, the Imaging Service Chief will serve as the first line report. The Chief of Staff provides overall guidance of medical practice in the medical center.
CANDIDATE MUST BE: 1) US Citizen or PRA, 2) BE/BC in Diagnostic Radiology, 3) Have a full, unrestricted medical license in any state and 4) confirm vaccination for seasonal influenza and Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), which are both requirements for all Health Care Personnel (HCP) employed by Department of Veterans Affairs.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Board eligible/certified in radiology.
At least 2 years of experience as Attending Radiologist at a Medical Center affiliated with an ACGME-accredited Radiology Residency, including performance of advanced vascular, oncologic, and spinous interventional radiology procedures.
WORK SCHEDULE: 40hrs/week (4-10hr. shifts); no on-call responsibilities at present time

VA employees are covered by the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). FERS is a three-tiered retirement plan composed of 1) Social Security benefits; 2) FERS-FRAE basic benefits (pension) (VA contributes 16.6% of employee’s salary); and 3) Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) which is a 401K-type plan (VA contributes up to 5%).
50-55 days of paid time off (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 Federal holidays, up to 5 days for CME)

Malpractice insurance with tail coverage provided.
No physician employment contracts and no significant restrictions on moonlighting.
COMPENSATION: Base salary is 380K – 400K annually with incentives that will create a total compensation package between 430K – 450K. This position does not include relocation and recruitment incentive but is eligible for a retention incentive.
