The Neuroradiology Division of the Department of Radiology in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Little Rock, AR is seeking an ABR Certified/Eligible radiologist for a full-time neuroradiology faculty position. Overnight coverage is not required for this section as we will have a newly formed Emergency Radiology Section providing 24/7 coverage. The ideal candidate should be teamwork oriented with a mindset for service line delivery of health care. Our goal is to provide efficient delivery of health care in addition to our education-oriented program. The candidate would be highly involved in residency and fellow training and will be involved in multidisciplinary conferences. The neuroradiology faculty is expected to be involved in clinical research and will be working with our separate interventional neuroradiology program. In addition, we also collaborate with other neuroradiology faculty at our sister institutions at the VA Hospital and Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
We provide subspecialized expertise for a wide breadth of neuropathology with studies provided by the varied subspecialists in neurosurgery, neurology, otolaryngology and neuroopthalmology. In addition, we have an active emergency room with significant number of studies from the only Level I trauma center in state. The radiology department provides 24-hour coverage in all modalities including CT and MR. Our service is involved in an active university sponsored stroke program, in a comprehensive neuro-oncology center, and a long recognized world renowned myeloma institute. UAMS is a 514 bed tertiary care center and is equipped with eight CT and 10 MRI scanners (three 3T and seven 1.5T). We provide advanced neuroimaging for comprehensive evaluation of brain tumors (MR perfusion/tractography and fMRI).
