Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine and McGaw Graduate Medical Education offers an ACGME and CAST-certified fellowship in Neuroendovascular Intervention. The program was established in 2004, sponsored by the Departments of Radiology and Neurological Surgery, and is based in downtown Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital. We currently have an opening for one fellow to begin on July 1, 2025. The duration of the program is typically two years with the second year being CAST certified. With a team of 6 Neuroendovascular clinical faculty including international leaders in the field, fellows will be able to learn in an environment performing a large volume of procedures across the entire range of adult cerebrovascular pathologies and spine interventions, including in one of the largest pediatric programs in the Midwest through Lurie Children’s Hospital. As an academic program, trainees will be exposed to the latest endovascular/percutaneous interventional techniques, clinical trials, and neurovascular imaging research studies leveraging 4-D flow or vessel wall MRI and artificial intelligence. Combined with the work of our close colleagues in vascular neurology, neurocritical care and allied neurosciences, our Interventional Neuroradiology and Cerebrovascular Surgery sections consistently rank inside the US News & World Report's annual Top Ten Neurology and Neurosurgery programs in the nation.
Prerequisites and Training/Selection Criteria: Fellowship applicants are required to meet prerequisite training standards as determined by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons (https://abns.org/rfp-cnsendo/). Applicants can have backgrounds in Radiology, Neurological Surgery, or Neurology and must meet all requirements for their respective fields.
