Salary and benefits are highly competitive.
The Department of Radiology offers outstanding clinical services, education, and clinical research opportunities in a collegial environment. Appointees will have responsibilities in adult and pediatric neuroradiology, including brain, head and neck, and spine. The Neuroradiology Division runs a well-organized schedule to support work-life balance, while maintaining the highest standards of clinical work and commitment to education. The PACS system is integrated across the enterprise and selected clinical assignments can be covered on home PACS workstations. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Faculty members have the opportunity to actively engage in the Radiology Department Global Health Program, serving as mentors to Radiology residents who are passionate about making an impact on a global scale.
MUSC fosters a collaborative clinical scientific environment supporting its faculty in many ways including state-of-the-art clinical and research facilities. Cutting-edge clinical equipment include Photon-counting Detector CT and nine clinical MRI scanners at 1.5T and 3T equipped with advanced imaging software, including two 3T MRI scanners dedicated to pediatric imaging. MUSC consists of several closely related clinical service organizations. These include the University Hospital, the Ashley River Tower, the Institute of Psychiatry, the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, the Children's Health R. Keith Summey Medical Pavilion, and Storm Eye Institute. Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of South Carolina is also required.
Founded in 1824 in Charleston, MUSC is the oldest medical school in the South, as well as the state’s only integrated, academic health sciences center with a unique charge to serve the state through education, research and patient care. Each year, MUSC educates and trains more than 3,000 students and more than 850 residents in six colleges: Dental Medicine, Graduate Studies, Health Professions, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy. With $298 million in research funding in fiscal year 2022, the collaboration between faculty, staff, students, and our partners accelerates the movement of scientific discoveries that improve lives.
