The Department of Radiology at The Ohio State University is seeking a Division Chief for Abdominal & Pelvic Imaging who is passionate about clinical excellence, dedicated to advancing research and innovation, committed to education, mentorship, and sponsorship, and who demonstrates a deep commitment to patient-centered care. The Division Chief oversees clinical staff, including physicians, fellows, and residents, in providing Abdominal & Pelvic Imaging Services throughout The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC).
They will contribute to the strategic growth of the clinical, educational, and research missions of the Department, including the development of staffing models to meet the needs of each domain. OSUWMC is entering an exciting phase of growth of its ambulatory and inpatient services, creating excellent opportunities to build upon and substantially expand our Abdominal Imaging programs. Notably, the organization’s strategic plan includes $4 billion in facilities expansion and programmatic development over the next four years.
Duties and Responsibilities: Directs the day-to-day clinical operations of the Abdominal & Pelvic Imaging Division of the Department of Radiology: • Provides patient care as related to the Abdominal & Pelvic Imaging Service. • Coordinates daily assignment of clinical staff to meet patient care needs throughout the Medical Center. • Establishes metrics and provides data-driven feedback to the team to create strategies for development and improvement based on performance metrics.
Administrative duties: • Provides executive leadership in the Division of Abdominal & Pelvic Imaging of the Department of Radiology, including identifying and articulating a vision and strategic direction related to clinical care, growth, educational priorities, and research and innovation. • Represents the Department on matters pertaining to Abdominal Imaging in ambulatory and inpatient settings. • Leads the recruitment of Abdominal Imaging professionals as needed to support the clinical, education and research missions of the Division and the Department. • Develops and maintains policies and procedures to assure consistency with best practice standards.
Education and research responsibilities: • Conducts, oversees, and provides opportunities for lectures, seminars and related educational offerings, both within the Medical Center and at the regional and national level. • Works closely with the Program Director of the Abdominal Imaging Fellowship to assure excellence of training and full compliance with guidelines. • Collaborates with faculty in the Division to develop and lead our Abdominal Imaging Research Program. • Serves as a mentor and sponsor of residents, fellows, and faculty in the Division.
Qualifications: • Demonstrates significant scholarly activity, with an established or developing national reputation in Abdominal & Pelvic Imaging. • Ideally, should qualify for appointment at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level. However, Assistant Professors demonstrating significant scholarly productivity will be considered. • Fellowship training in Abdominal Imaging • Maintenance of ABR certifications in Radiology. • Demonstrated leadership skills desired. • Must support and embrace the diverse and inclusive culture of the Division, the Department, the Medical Center and the University.
