The Department of Radiology (DOR) at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is recruiting a full-time radiologist to join the Division of Emergency Radiology (ER). Applicants should be fellowship trained, ideally in Emergency Radiology but not mandatory, and must be ABR board-certified, -eligible, or equivalent. The candidate will be appointed to a faculty rank commensurate with their experience/qualifications.
The ER division operates out of the LAC+USC Medical Center. One of major strengths of the division is the rich clinical experience from this major safety net hospital, one of the largest Level 1 trauma centers in the nation. The ER Division, which was established in 2013, is currently staffed by 8 emergency radiologists, and provides the vast majority of interpretations for imaging originating out of the LAC+USC MC Emergency Department.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, an interest in academic pursuits and a willingness to provide shift work coverage, including evening, weekend and overnight shifts. This position requires clinical expertise in a wide range of radiologic modalities and organ systems, with particular skill and experience in trauma imaging. A cornerstone value of the USC ER division is an unyielding commitment to trainee education and mentorship at every level. A focused clinical and research interest is desired. There are extensive opportunities for research and other scholarly activities, both within the DOR and in collaboration with other departments, especially with the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Acute Care Surgery. The DOR maintains a robust research infrastructure including grant managers, study coordinators, and dedicated statisticians.
The USC Department of Radiology is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community. We believe that diversity is integral to excellence and welcome interest from all individuals whose backgrounds, beliefs, or interest align with this commitment.
