The Department of Radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a radiologist to join our Breast Imaging section.
The Department of Radiology consists of 109 faculty members, including 19 physicists and PhD researchers. The breast imaging section at UAB is a busy clinical service consisting of four dedicated breast imagers who are responsible for interpreting over 40,000 exams annually. Mammography (Digital and DBT), ultrasound, breast procedures, breast MRI, and CEM are practiced in a highly collaborative environment within our breast health center, where we are co-located with breast surgeons and oncologists who engage with us in interdisciplinary conferences, research collaborations, and teaching opportunities.
Applicants should be ABR-Certified or have passed the core examinations and be on track to take the certifying examination. Fellowship trained or established strong competency in breast imaging or be proficient in breast imaging and diagnostic Radiology, and CAQ or CAQ-eligible in breast imaging is required, and must be eligible to practice medicine in Alabama. Candidate must be willing to collaborate and should have a strong affinity for teaching. An established record of scholarly work is valued. There is opportunity for departmental leadership for those interested and with proven leadership skills.
